Iguazu Falls
Iguazu Falls is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Argentina and rightfully so as it is one of the most beautiful and invigorating waterfalls in the world. The waterfall is located at the border of Brazil and Argentina. Paraguay also touches part of the waterfall border.
The actual waterfall itself is located in Argentina; however, many adventure travel tourists visit the side of the Iguazu Falls that is found on Brazil as well. On the Argentina side though, you can find guided tours that will take you on a boat underneath the waterfall math or you can find guided adventure tour that will take you hiking around the falling water. The views of the waterfall are absolutely awe-inspiring and unforgettable. On the Brazilian side, you are able to find guided tours as well that will give you breathtaking views of the marvelous waterfall.
The falls of this waterfall are about 400 miles from their spring and consists of a water volume from anywhere from 300 to more than 6,000 cubic meters per second. They are formed by a group of more than 250 smaller falls that range in power and height with the utmost height being about 90 years, or 82 meters.
One of the largest and paramount attractions within the Iguazu Falls in Argentina would be what is known as the Garganta del Diablo – meaning the Devil’s Throat, which is an adventure tour all of its own. This is where the largest amount of water passes and is able to create a breathtaking and impressive sight. The gushing water here comes from several different angles and more 200 feet above the actual waterfall. It is like nothing you have ever seen before. What is just as impressive is the roar that you can hear from miles away of the strong power behind the falling water.
In addition to the waterfall itself, there is more to this area of beautiful Argentina. There is a beautiful natural National Park located right next to the waterfall area. Within the National Park, you will be able to see where many unique and extraordinary animals cultivate. You’ll see more than 200 different types of trees, more than 70 different types of mammals, over 400 different species of birds, as well as hundreds of different types of reptiles, amphibians, and butterflies. It is truly nature to be seen and is not a piece of this region that you want to remove from you adventure travel or adventure tours list.
Within this same area of the Iguazu Waterfalls, tourists can find guided tours for the Yacutinga Lodge Wild Preservatory, The Itaipu Dam, as well as the San Ignacio Jesuit Mission Ruins. These are destinations for avid backpackers and those that enjoy true Argentina adventure tours.
Anything around the Iguazu Falls is absolutely breathtaking, marvelous, and worth every penny and minute spent there. The waterfall can be viewed from a couple different touring circuits allowing for visitors to choose the type of adventure travel and tour that they would ultimately enjoy. One guided tour will take you to see views of the Devil’s Throat and the beautiful waterfalls, while another guided tour will provide the marvelous sightseeing of several different waterfalls including but not limited to the beautiful Iguazu Falls.
